When Was the Last Time Rickie Fowler Won a Tournament on the PGA Tour?

The when was the last time rickie fowler won a golf tournament is a question that most people would like to know. Rickie Fowler has only won one PGA Tour event since 2013.

Over the past several years, Rickie Fowler hasn’t been at the top of many leaderboards. Last season, the 32-year-old only had one top-10 result in 24 PGA Tour appearances, and he’s now ranked 128th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Fowler has a great chance to win again on Sunday, as he heads into the final round of the CJ Cup with a two-stroke advantage over the rest of the field. So, when was the last time he won on the PGA Tour, and whose event was it?

The recent difficulties of Rickie Fowler

For most of the past decade, Fowler has been one of the most consistent players on Tour, but last season was perhaps the worst of his career. Fowler only has one top-10 result and five top-25s in 24 races. For the first time in his PGA Tour career, he missed nine cuts and did not qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

For the first time since his rookie season, the elegant righty failed to qualify for both the Masters and the US Open. Fowler had an unusual year, since he has typically performed well in big tournaments and is usually in contention for a couple victories each season. However, 2021 did not treat him kindly.

Fowler’s problems, on the other hand, go back farther. In 14 races during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, he only had two top-10 results and missed six cuts.

Rickie Fowler hasn’t won on the PGA Tour in a long time.

Over the last two years, Fowler’s play hasn’t been up to his own expectations, and he has zero victories to show for it. So, when was his last PGA Tour victory?

That would be in the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open, all the way back. Fowler started the event with three consecutive 64s, followed by a 65 and another 64 to take a one-shot lead into the final round. Fowler’s campaign was endangered by an unfortunate triple bogey in the final round, but he finished strong with two birdies in his last four holes to win by two strokes over Branden Grace.

And now, 987 days later, he’s hoping for another victory.

A opportunity to return to the top of the standings

Fowler hasn’t won a PGA Tour tournament in in over two years, and he hasn’t really been close since 2019. But he’ll head into the final round of the CJ Cup on Sunday with his first 54-hole lead since winning the Waste Management Open two years ago.

After his third round, Fowler told reporters, “I haven’t been in this situation a whole lot in the past few years.” “So it was nice to see that I was still executing and making the shots that I wanted to hit on the back nine, being around and then in the lead.

“It’s taken a long time to get here. It’s been a long journey with many ups and downs. “We’re not finished yet.”

Fowler leads Rory McIlroy by two shots heading into the final round. Will he be able to complete the task and return to the winners’ circle?
