Cedric the Entertainer, who hosted the Emmys 2021, couldn’t help but poke fun at the Royal Family, particularly Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stunning allegations in their Oprah Winfrey interview earlier this year.

‘As wonderful as The Crown is, it pales in comparison to the actual monarchy,’ the 57-year-old comedian quipped to the throng of Hollywood luminaries who had assembled in Los Angeles for the event.

‘I’m referring to Prince Harry and Megan’s Oprah interview. ‘Wasn’t it the genuine tea right there!?’

Cedric then poked fun at the royal family, expressing his surprise at the couple’s assertion that a member of the royal family had questioned how dark their son Archie’s complexion would be before he was born.

As the audience chuckled, he added, “Meghan must put it on that kid because he surrendered his kingdom faster than Eddie Murphy in Coming to America.” ‘I can’t believe they’re talking about Archie,’ I exclaim. What a black little baby he’ll be.’

‘They need young Archie!’ Cedric added, implying that the Royals would benefit from having Archie around to teach them how to dance. Who else is going to teach them how to TikTok if Charles can’t dance? I can just picture it now, tiny Archie with the queen, like come on Gammy.’

‘The entire crown behind them like, “Ok your majesty, I see you,”’ he chuckled as he told how he envisioned Queen Elizabeth and Archie doing a TikTok together.

As Cedric laughed on stage, Josh O’Connor and several of The Crown’s actors were seen on video looking embarrassed.

Cedric certainly lived up to his name, amusing the audience with jokes on the fact that visitors had to be completely vaccinated in order to attend.

Britain and its royal family are absorbing the tremors from a sensational television interview with Prince Harry and Meghan. The couple said they encountered racist attitudes and a lack of support that drove Meghan to thoughts of suicide. The couple gave a deeply unflattering depiction of life inside the royal household, depicting a cold, uncaring institution that they had to flee to save their lives. ‘We had to get vaxed to get here,’ he joked. I didn’t respond the same way Nicki Minaj’s cousin did… Pfizer, the Neiman Marcus of vaccinations, is what I received. Macy’s is Moderna. TJ Maxx is Johnson & Johnson.’

Cedric subsequently quipped that as a Black guy hosting such a big awards event, he is under a lot of pressure since “Black people believe I can give an award to anybody.”

Hollywood luminaries gathered in downtown Los Angeles for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards to honor the finest of television.

Since 2008, the awards ceremony has been hosted in The Microsoft Theatre, however this year’s event was conducted in a special tent after the ceremony in 2020 was held virtually due to coronavirus limitations.

In-person attendance returned on September 19, but due to the socially distant seating arrangement, just 500 people came, compared to thousands in prior years.

Throughout the event, fully vaccinated attendees were required to observe stringent Covid-19 procedures, which included testing and wearing a mask while they were not on camera.
