If you’ve ever wanted to know what an accumulator bet is, or you already know roughly what an ‘acca’ is but want to know how to place one, you’ve come to the right place. Here is everything you need to know about placing accumulator sports bets on today’s most trusted iGaming sites.
From my own personal experience of placing accas, I’ve found them relatively easy to place. Although they are riskier than singles, doubles, and trebles, placing strategic/well-informed acca bets with reasonable odds and implied probability rates (so nothing too outlandish) and then winning that acca can massively boost your bankroll.
The winnings I have made from a few successful accas I’ve made in the past have enabled me to place even more accas and save me from having to re-deposit into my sports betting account.
With that said, let’s now take a closer look at how you can build your own accumulator bet on a legally permitted website with highly competitive odds and top-notch sports betting services. If you dare to be different, you might like to try placing an acca bet in the future.

ToggleWhat is an Accumulator Bet?
An accumulator bet, which is also often referred to as an acca or combination bet, works in pretty much the same way as a double or treble bet, except it allows you to combine even more bets into the same betslip. In other words, to place an acca is to bet on four or more different outcomes/betting markets on the same betslip, which massively increases the odds because the odds for each outcome are combined (multiplied together).
Let me quickly use soccer/football (the English Premier League) as an example, where I place most of my accas on a day when multiple fixtures are scheduled. I will use the UK fractional odds format in my examples and include the decimal odds and American/moneyline odds.
In my acca, I might fancy Manchester United to beat West Ham at 6/4 odds for Manchester United to win (6/4 equates to 2.50 in decimal odds and +150 in American/moneyline odds, with a 40.00% implied probability rate).
My acca might also include Tottenham Hotspur to beat Fulham at 1/1, also known as EVENS (which is 2.00 in decimal odds, +100 in American/moneyline odds, with a 50.00% IPR), Liverpool to beat Manchester City, also at 1/1, and Chelsea to beat Brighton, at 6/4.
If you guess correctly, based on what the calculator tells us, your total returns on a £10 stake would be £250 (which includes your initial stake returned, + 24/1 on your £10.00 stake). You can put these odds and your total stake in the betting odds calculator here on this page: askgamblers.com/sports-betting/odds-calculator – just to double-check what your potential returns would be if you place a winning accumulator bet each way or double bet.
In this case, your total profit on the four-fold accumulator would be £240. However, each team MUST win its respective match for your acca bet to win. Even if just one team loses, your entire acca would lose.
Therefore, although the profit margin can be huge and tempting in acca bets, there are more risks because you rely on every team to win, not just one team. Despite the risks, it’s still one of the most popular bet types out there and remains one of my favourites. It has powered up my day on several occasions.
How to Place an Accumulator Bet
Placing a combination bet like this is relatively straightforward. However, if you don’t already have one, you must be at least 18 years old and register a new account on a fully licensed and regulated sports betting site.
Whenever I’m looking for somewhere new to place bets, I always go back to the official AskGamblers sports betting and casino review site because they regularly update their list of top-rated sites with the safest new brands known for having highly competitive odds.
Their dedicated research team has carefully handpicked each site. Then, each brand is fully reviewed by one of its experts using the same rigorous background checks, website analysis, and extensive investigations.
I trust their honest, accurate, and unbiased reviews because none of the top suggestions I have tried have let me down yet. The reviews give me a much better insight into what each sportsbook offers, and they contain secure links to each site’s official online registration page.
When you sign up to any of their featured brands and log in to your new account, head to the cashier section to top up your account with an amount you are comfortable depositing, then head straight to the sportsbook.
All you need to do now is tap or click on up to 20 different selections to add to your acca. Now, enter the amount you wish to bet (if you are happy with the amount and the odds for all of your selections) to add the acca to your betslip.
To place the bet, confirm the amount and then select the ‘place bet’ button. It’s that simple.
Final Thoughts
Before placing acca bets, I suggest setting a reasonable spending budget and logging into your account to manually set things like deposit limits (daily, weekly or monthly), spending caps, win/loss limits, or session time reminders, also known as safer gambling tools. They work for me and many other like-minded sports bettors I have spoken to.
The best thing about accas is that you don’t necessarily have to be a seasoned pro to place one.
However, before placing an accumulator, I would carefully consider which bets might be worth adding by gathering as many relevant stats as possible and carrying out plenty of research into the teams you are about to bet on to give your acca a much better chance of returning you a profit.
I like to cover myself by placing a few different accas with slightly different selections. It doesn’t always work, but when it does, the payout covers those lost bets.
